India, New Zealand Seek Fresh Momentum in Indo-Pacific Cooperation during Modi-Luxon Talks
AUCKLAND: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said stronger cooperation between India and New Zealand would inject new strength into the Indo-Pacific as he held talks with New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon in Auckland. Modi described the two countries as important maritime nations committed to advancing shared goals of peace and regional stability.
Modi arrived in New Zealand from Australia on the final leg of his three-nation tour, which has focused on deepening cooperation in the Indo-Pacific amid China’s growing assertiveness in the region. In his televised opening remarks, the prime minister said closer India-New Zealand ties would bring fresh energy to efforts aimed at ensuring peace, security and prosperity across the Indo-Pacific.
