Two Arrested With 4 Kg Gold in Kolkata’s Lake Town

Kolkata: Two persons were arrested with around 4 kg of suspected smuggled gold from the Lake Town area on the northern fringes of Kolkata on Friday, police said. The duo was apprehended from B Block in Lake Town during an operation.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the seized gold may be linked to hawala transactions. Police have launched a detailed probe to trace the source of the gold and uncover any larger smuggling network behind the seizure.
