Telangana Rising 2047: CM vows to involve Gen Z, Alpha, Beta in state’s growth
HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Friday said his government was undertaking transformational changes in the education sector and would involve not only Gen Z but also Gen Alpha and Gen Beta in achieving the vision of making the state a USD 3 trillion economy by 2047.
Reddy, who holds the education portfolio, made the remarks during a marathon speech lasting more than two hours in the state Assembly on Friday night.
He said the government was focusing on strengthening the education system to prepare younger generations to contribute to Telangana’s long-term development and economic growth.
The chief minister said the state government aims to raise the share of education in the state budget to 15 per cent.
According to Reddy, the previous BRS government had allocated Rs 18,955 crore, or 6.53 per cent of the budget, to education in 2023-24.
He said the allocation had increased under his government to Rs 23,729 crore, accounting for 7.78 per cent of the state budget, in 2025-26.
Reddy emphasised that investment in education would remain a key priority as Telangana seeks to build a skilled and future-ready population and achieve its ambitious economic target by 2047.
