Queen Máxima Visits Healthcare Workers, Examines India’s Digital Payments and AI Finance
Mumbai: Queen Máxima of the Netherlands on Tuesday met healthcare professionals in Mumbai to understand how India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI), artificial intelligence (AI), and payroll-linked financial infrastructure are helping improve financial health outcomes for salaried individuals.
Queen Máxima, who serves as the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Financial Health (UNSGSA), visited HCG Cancer Hospital in Colaba, where she interacted with senior leaders of SalarySe and healthcare professionals.
During the visit, she sought to understand the financial realities and challenges faced by frontline healthcare workers, while reviewing how digital financial solutions are being used to strengthen financial resilience and well-being among salaried employees.
The discussions focused on the role of India’s rapidly evolving digital payments ecosystem, AI-enabled financial services, and payroll-linked solutions in enhancing financial inclusion and improving access to responsible financial products.
Recognised as one of the world’s leading advocates for financial health and inclusion from 2009 to 2024, Queen Máxima is on a three-day visit to India. According to a release, she is meeting government representatives, regulators, and industry stakeholders to exchange views on financial resilience, responsible innovation, and inclusive financial systems.
