Railway Ministry Reaffirms Bedroll Provision for RAC Passengers amid Passenger Complaints
NEW DELHI: The Railway Ministry has reiterated its directive to ensure that passengers travelling on Reservation against Cancellation (RAC) status are provided with linen and blankets after receiving repeated complaints from almost all railway zones over inadequate bedroll supply.
In a letter dated August 4, the ministry said complaints about the non-provision or insufficient provision of bedroll kits to RAC passengers continue to be received through various channels. Under the RAC system, two passengers share a single berth, and both are entitled to bedroll kits in air-conditioned coaches. The ministry has asked railway zones to strictly comply with the existing instructions to avoid inconvenience to passengers.
