‘Unbelievable Batter’: Dilip Vengsarkar Predicts Bright Future for Vaibhav Sooryavanshi
New Delhi: Former India captain and ex-chief selector Dilip Vengsarkar has heaped praise on teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi, describing his strokeplay as “unbelievable” and expressing confidence that the 15-year-old will make the most of his expected international debut on India’s upcoming tour of Ireland.
Speaking to PTI during his visit to the United Kingdom with the Mumbai Cricket Association team, Vengsarkar marvelled at Suryavanshi’s natural talent, particularly his exceptional hand-eye coordination, which allows him to play extraordinary shots with remarkable ease.
“He with his hand-eye coordination plays some unreal shots. He is just unbelievable,” Vengsarkar said, adding that the youngster possesses the temperament and ability to succeed at the highest level. The former selector believes Suryavanshi is likely to get an opportunity during India’s tour of Ireland before the team travels to England, and expects the prodigious batter to seize the moment. Vengsarkar said “I am sure he is a very good player and he will get the chance, and once he gets it, he will grab it with both hands,”.
