Maharashtra TET Postponed Over Suspected Paper Leak Ahead of Exam

PUNE/THANE: The Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2026, scheduled to be held on Sunday, has been postponed following a suspected paper leak after police recovered questions resembling the actual examination paper during a raid in Thane district’s Bhiwandi, officials said on Saturday.

According to the Thane district administration, the suspected breach was uncovered in the early hours of Saturday when Bhiwandi Police acted on confidential intelligence about individuals allegedly possessing unauthorised information related to the examination papers.

Authorities are investigating whether the recovered material was part of a larger paper leak network and are examining the extent of the breach. Further details regarding the rescheduled examination date are expected after the investigation progresses.

The postponement comes as a major setback for thousands of candidates across Maharashtra who were set to appear for the eligibility test, with officials assuring that strict measures will be taken to safeguard the examination process before a new date is announced.
