Heavy Rain Lashes Delhi; IMD Issues Orange Alert
New Delhi: Heavy rain continued to batter Delhi on Friday morning, a day after widespread showers caused waterlogging in several parts of the city. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert and forecast more heavy rainfall during the day. The minimum temperature at Safdarjung, the city’s base weather station, settled at 25.6 degrees Celsius, 1.3 notches below normal. Other weather stations also recorded below-normal minimum temperatures, with Palam at 23.2°C, Lodhi Road at 25.2°C, Ridge at 22.1°C, and Ayanagar at 24.8°C.
