Gold Falls Rs 150, Silver Plunges Rs 5,000 amid Strong US Dollar
NEW DELHI: Gold prices slipped by Rs 150 to Rs 1,50,650 per 10 grams in the national capital on Monday, while silver tumbled Rs 5,000 per kilogram, as a firm US dollar and sluggish global market sentiment prompted traders to cut exposure to precious metals.
According to local market dealers, gold of 99.9 per cent purity settled at Rs 1,50,650 per 10 grams, down from its previous close of Rs 1,50,800 per 10 grams.
Silver, meanwhile, snapped its four-session winning streak, plunging Rs 5,000 to Rs 2,40,000 per kilogram (inclusive of all taxes), compared with Friday’s closing price of Rs 2,45,000 per kg.
