Odisha Vigilance Catches Tahasildar with Rs 5 Lakh in ‘Ill-Gotten’ Money
BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Vigilance officials on Thursday caught the Lathikata tahasildar-cum-sub-registrar of Sundergarh district with Rs 5 lakh in suspected ill-gotten cash.
Acting on a tip-off, vigilance sleuths intercepted his vehicle near Rajabasa Chhak while he was heading towards Rourkela and seized the cash. The officer failed to satisfactorily explain its source, following which the cash and official vehicle were seized, officials said.
