Gold Prices Rise; Futures Hit Rs 1.45 Lakh per 10 gm amid Spot Buying

New Delhi: Gold futures climbed Rs 1,151 to Rs 1.45 lakh per 10 grams on Wednesday, supported by fresh buying from traders amid firm demand in the spot market.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold contracts for October delivery rose Rs 1,151, or 0.8 per cent, to Rs 1,45,450 per 10 grams, with a business turnover of 784 lots.

Market analysts said the rise was driven by fresh positions created by speculators, reflecting positive sentiment in the precious metals market. In the international market, gold futures advanced 1.53 per cent to USD 4,140.48 per ounce in New York, lending further support to domestic prices.
