Russia Sanctions Bill Clears US Senate, Proposes 100% Tariffs on India, Others
Washington: The US Senate has overwhelmingly approved a bill targeting Russia and major buyers of its oil and gas, including China and India, over their role in supporting Moscow’s war effort in Ukraine. The Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026 passed 86-11. The legislation would allow President Donald Trump to impose tariffs of up to 100 per cent on goods from countries among the top five importers of Russian oil and gas.
