Dr Geetika Madan Patel Leads CSR-Driven Healthcare Initiatives to Empower Community Healthcare and Women
Vadodara, Gujarat: Guided by the belief that sustainable opportunities are the key to lasting women’s empowerment, Dr Geetika Madan Patel, Vice President and Medical Director of Parul University, is spearheading a range of community development initiatives that are transforming lives through skill development, healthcare access, and economic inclusion. Under her leadership, Parul University has reinforced its commitment to social responsibility through impactful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs. This is dedicated on enabling women and educating healthcare outreach across communities.
One of the university’s flagship initiatives, the Garima Women Livelihood Centres, has empowered more than 1,000 women in Vadodara by providing livelihood opportunities, vocational training, and skill development programs to foster long-term financial independence. To further promote women entrepreneurship, the Sahiyar Gram Haat initiative offers a dedicated marketplace where women artisans can directly showcase and sell their handmade products, helping them generate sustainable incomes while preserving traditional craftsmanship.
In collaboration with the Apollo Tyres Foundation, the TRUPT Store at Parul Sevashram Hospital has also emerged as a significant livelihood initiative, creating employment opportunities for women from nearby villages. Complementing these efforts is the Parul Mahila Credit Cooperative Society, which continues to promote financial inclusion and economic stability by providing women with access to cooperative financial services.
Beyond livelihood generation, Dr Patel has played a key role in fostering dialogue on corporate social responsibility by helping organise the CSR Convention & Best Practices in CSR Awards in association with HelpAge India. The annual convention serves as a platform for NGOs, corporate leaders, social activists, policymakers, and development professionals to exchange ideas, showcase successful CSR initiatives, and recognise organisations driving meaningful social change.
Healthcare remains another major focus area of Parul University’s outreach efforts. Through the institution’s “Health for All” program, large-scale health camps have been conducted across underserved communities, providing medical consultations, preventive healthcare services, and awareness programs. With an integrated approach combining livelihood generation, financial inclusion, healthcare access, and collaborative CSR engagement, Parul University continues to expand its social impact, reinforcing its commitment to inclusive community development and sustainable nation-building.
Speaking through these initiatives, Dr Geetika Madan Patel continues to advocate that women’s empowerment extends beyond financial assistance and must be built on sustainable opportunities that promote dignity, independence, and long-term growth.
