President Murmu to Visit Odisha on June 19, Launch Multiple Development Projects

BHUBANESWAR: President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to arrive at her native place, Rairangpur, in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Friday afternoon for a two-day visit during which she will inaugurate several government projects and participate in a series of public programmes, officials said.

President Murmu will be joined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday for multiple events, including a visit to a religious site, the inauguration and foundation laying of key development projects, and a public meeting in the district.

The visit assumes added significance as June 20 marks President Murmu’s birth anniversary. The day also coincides with the completion of two years of the BJP government in Odisha. The President’s visit to her hometown is expected to draw large crowds. The state government has made elaborate arrangements for the President’s visit, with senior officials overseeing security and logistical preparations in Mayurbhanj district.
