FIRs filed against 39 advocates in Prayagraj over forged LLB marksheets

PRAYAGRAJ (UP): Police in Prayagraj have registered FIRs against 39 advocates over the past three days for allegedly obtaining enrolment and Certificates of Practice (COPs) using forged LLB marksheets, an official said on Tuesday.

Civil Lines SHO Ramashray Yadav said Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh secretary RK Shukla had complained against 105 advocates allegedly practising law with COPs secured through fake marksheets. FIRs against the remaining 66 advocates are expected to be filed within the next one or two days, following which the investigation will begin.
