India Remains Fastest-Growing Major Economy, Says Finance Minister Sitharaman

WASHINGTON: India is currently the fastest-growing major economy in the world and offers strong investment opportunities for Canadian investors, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said.

Addressing members of the Indian business community in Toronto, Sitharaman highlighted India’s large market, sustained economic growth, young population, rising consumption and rapidly deepening capital markets. She said structural changes driven by urbanisation, a growing middle class and world-class digital infrastructure are creating opportunities across sectors of the economy.
