Punjab Crosses 1 Crore SIR Form Digitisation Milestone in Record 16 Days

CHANDIGARH: Punjab has digitised more than one crore enumeration forms within the first 16 days of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise, Chief Electoral Officer Anindita Mitra said on Saturday, marking significant progress in the state-wide voter roll revision process.

Mitra said that 99.34 per cent of enumeration forms have already been distributed, ensuring near-universal outreach to eligible electors across the state. She said the collection and digitisation of enumeration forms are crucial steps towards maintaining accurate and up-to-date electoral rolls. The large-scale distribution reflects the administration’s efforts to cover every voter during the ongoing exercise.

According to the Chief Electoral Officer, the exercise will help strengthen the integrity of the electoral database and further reinforce the democratic process by ensuring that voter records remain current and reliable.
