TN Govt to Move Supreme Court to Secure Cauvery Water Share: Minister

Chennai: Tamil Nadu will approach the Supreme Court to secure its rightful share of Cauvery water, state Law Minister R Nirmal Kumar said on Friday, rejecting Karnataka’s stand on the issue. He said the state would pursue legal remedies as Karnataka has repeatedly failed to release water despite directions from the Cauvery Water Management Authority. Accusing the neighbouring state of historically pursuing politics over the river water dispute, Kumar asserted that the Tamil Nadu government remains committed to protecting the interests of its farmers through legal means.
