Sensex Edges Higher, Nifty Holds Steady Following RBI Rate Decision
Mumbai: Benchmark equity indices traded mixed on Wednesday after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) kept key interest rates unchanged for the third consecutive policy meeting this financial year. The BSE Sensex gained 246.79 points to 78,675.74 in late morning trade, while the NSE Nifty slipped 22.30 points to 24,590.85. The divergence in the two indices has persisted since Monday following the introduction of a new auction mechanism for shares with futures and options (F&O) contracts by the stock exchanges.
