PM Modi Extends Birthday Wishes to Dalai Lama, Prays for His Good Health
NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday extended warm birthday greetings to the Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, lauding his enduring message of peace, harmony, and compassion that has inspired millions across the world. The Dalai Lama, the spiritual head of Tibetan Buddhism, turned 91 on Monday.
In a post, the Prime Minister described the Dalai Lama’s teachings as a guiding force for humanity and praised his unwavering commitment to global well-being. “Warm birthday greetings to his Holiness the Dalai Lama. His message of peace and harmony has been a guiding force for people across the world. His moral and spiritual strength and his commitment to global good are commendable. Wishing him a long and healthy life,” Modi wrote.
Prime Minister Modi’s message reflects India’s longstanding respect for the Dalai Lama, who has lived in exile in the country since 1959 and has been based in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, for more than six decades.
