Adityanath warns anti-national forces against attempts to weaken India’s unity
MATHURA: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday warned that anti-national and anti-social forces seeking to spread hatred or undermine India’s unity, integrity and faith would face consequences, invoking Lord Krishna’s teachings on protecting righteousness and destroying evil.
Addressing a gathering in Mathura on the second day of his visit ahead of Krishna Janmashtami, Adityanath said the teachings of Lord Krishna remained relevant in contemporary times.
“The innocent people under all circumstances will be protected wherever the powers of goodness exist. But wherever anti-national and anti-social forces raise their heads, create hatred in society or attempt to harm India’s unity, integrity and faith, Lord Krishna had already said 5,000 years ago what their fate would be,” he said.
The chief minister referred to the Bhagavad Gita’s message, “Paritranaya sadhunam, vinashaya cha dushkritam” — the protection of the righteous and destruction of evil — saying it continued to guide society.
Adityanath said Mathura and the Braj region had preserved their religious and cultural heritage despite repeated invasions and attempts to impose other faiths. He asserted that such attempts had failed to erase the Sanatan tradition and that the legacy of Lord Krishna and Radha continued to inspire people.
He also welcomed devotees arriving in Mathura for Janmashtami and extended greetings to the people of Uttar Pradesh on the festival celebrating the birth of Lord Krishna.
