Akhilesh Demands Call Record Probe of Everyone Employed at Ayodhya Ram Temple
LUCKNOW: Stepping up his attack over the Ram temple donation issue, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday demanded that the call detail records (CDRs) of all those employed at the Ram temple in Ayodhya be examined. He alleged that such an exercise would reveal that “99.9 per cent” of the temple staff had links with the BJP.
Addressing reporters in Lucknow, Yadav claimed that if the call records were scrutinised, it would expose close connections between temple employees and the ruling party, leading to a “turmoil” within the BJP. He made the remarks while intensifying his criticism of the saffron party over the controversy surrounding donations to the Ram temple.
The former Uttar Pradesh chief minister also accused the BJP of prioritising electoral gains over religious values. He alleged that the ruling party was using matters of faith for political advantage and said religion should not be exploited for electoral purposes.
