BJP Threatens Rs 100 Crore Defamation Case against Omar Abdullah over ‘Poaching’ Remark
Srinagar: The BJP on Monday served a legal notice to Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, asking him to either substantiate his allegations that the party was attempting to poach MLAs or issue a public apology within seven days.
The party said Abdullah must provide concrete evidence to support his claim that the BJP was offering Rs 20-30 crore to legislators. Warning of legal action, the BJP said it would file a Rs 100 crore defamation suit against the chief minister if he fails to apologise or produce evidence within the stipulated time.
