Commercial LPG Prices Slashed by Rs 183.50 per Cylinder

NEW DELHI: Commercial LPG prices were reduced by Rs 183.50 per 19-kg cylinder on Wednesday, marking the first cut this year after a series of steep hikes triggered by the West Asia crisis.

Following the revision, a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder, widely used by hotels, restaurants and other commercial establishments, will now cost Rs 2,930, according to oil marketing companies. The reduction comes after commercial LPG prices touched a record high of Rs 3,113 per cylinder last month as escalating tensions in West Asia pushed up global crude oil prices and disrupted energy supplies.

The latest cut is expected to provide relief to businesses in the hospitality and food services sector, which have been grappling with elevated input costs over the past several months.

Meanwhile, there was no change in the price of domestic LPG cylinders. The 14.2-kg household cooking gas cylinder continues to be priced at Rs 942. Domestic LPG rates were last increased by Rs 29 on June 7.
