Congress Stalling Parliament, Obstructing Debate on Key Bills: BJP
New Delhi: The BJP on Tuesday accused the Congress and its INDIA bloc allies of deliberately disrupting the Monsoon Session of Parliament, alleging that repeated protests have stalled discussions on key legislations and exposed the Opposition’s “double standards” on issues such as paper leaks and student protests.
Addressing a press conference, BJP national spokesperson and Lok Sabha MP Sambit Patra said frequent disruptions have affected Question Hour and Zero Hour, preventing MPs from raising constituency-related issues. He alleged that despite crores of rupees being spent on each Parliament session, the Opposition has continued to obstruct proceedings instead of participating in debates on important Bills. Patra termed the situation a matter of serious concern and blamed the Congress-led INDIA bloc for hampering the functioning of Parliament.
