President Approves Installation of Puri Rath Yatra Chariot Wheels at Rashtrapati Bhavan

BHUBANESWAR: The wheels of the three chariots used during Puri’s annual Rath Yatra will be installed at Rashtrapati Bhavan after President Droupadi Murmu approved the proposal, an official said on Tuesday.

Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) chief administrator Arabinda Padhee said he met the President at Lok Bhavan in Bhubaneswar and presented the proposal. Murmu agreed to have the three chariot wheels installed at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Calling it a proud moment, Padhee said the installation would symbolize the spiritual and cultural significance of the world-famous Rath Yatra and the traditions associated with Lord Jagannath.
