Shravan’s First Monday: Massive Rush of Devotees at Shiva Temples across Rajasthan

Jaipur: Devotion marked the first Monday of the holy month of Shravan across Rajasthan as thousands of devotees thronged Shiva temples, chanting “Har Har Mahadev” and offering prayers. Jaipur’s Tarkeshwar Mahadev Temple conducted a special Bhasma Aarti at 4 am, inspired by the ritual at Ujjain’s Mahakaleshwar Temple.

Temples across the state opened early for mangala aarti, jalabhishek, and special worship. At the same time, large numbers of devotees collected holy water from Galta Teerth in Jaipur before carrying kanwars to Shiva temples to perform rituals.
