NCW Urges Speedy Action in Karnataka Bus Sexual Harassment Incident
NEW DELHI: The National Commission for Women (NCW) on Wednesday took suo motu cognisance of the alleged sexual harassment of female college students aboard a private bus operating on the Mangaluru-Vittal route in Karnataka.
Expressing concern over the incident, NCW chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar wrote to the Karnataka Director General of Police, urging immediate intervention and a swift, fair, and impartial investigation. The Commission said it acted on media reports and reaffirmed the need for prompt action to ensure justice for the victims.
