Rani Mukerji Bags Prestigious Honorary Doctorate from Australia’s La Trobe University
Mumbai: Bollywood actor Rani Mukerji will be awarded an Honorary Doctor of Letters by Australia’s La Trobe University in recognition of her outstanding contribution to Indian cinema and humanitarian work. The honour will be conferred at a special ceremony on August 14 at Federation Square in Melbourne during the 2026 Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM), which will be held from August 13 to 23.
With a career spanning nearly three decades, Mukerji is celebrated for acclaimed performances in films including Black, No One Killed Jessica, Hichki, the Mardaani series, and Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway.
