Preeti Pawar Enters CWG Boxing Final after Commanding Win

GLASGOW: Indian boxer Preeti Pawar stormed into the Commonwealth Games women’s 54kg final with a dominant 5-0 victory over Zambia’s Catherine Mwape in the semifinals on Friday. The 22-year-old Asian Games bronze medallist from Bhiwani controlled the bout with sharp counter-attacks and an effective left straight to outclass her opponent. Preeti will now face Canada’s Scarlett Delgado, who defeated England’s Lauren Mackie 4-1 in the other semifinal, in the gold medal clash.
