‘Quit First, Then Switch Sides’: Raut’s Message Amid Sena (UBT) Rebellion Rumours

MUMBAI: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Wednesday challenged dissident MPs to resign if they intend to switch loyalties, amid mounting speculation of an imminent split within the Uddhav Thackeray-led party.

Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Raut asserted that neither the people of Maharashtra nor Shiv Sena (UBT) lawmakers would remain silent if another rebellion similar to the 2022 split were to take place. He said those seeking to leave the party should first resign from their positions and face the electorate.

His remarks come against the backdrop of reports suggesting that several Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs are considering breaking away and forming a separate group. The speculation has intensified over the past few days, with reports claiming that at least six MPs may approach Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla regarding a possible split.
