‘Sand Mafia’ Tulu Mondal Knocks on Calcutta HC Doors, Seeks FIR Quashing
KOLKATA: Alleged sand mafia Tulu Mondal, whose name figured in the recent seizure of nearly Rs 50 crore in cash and gold in West Bengal’s Birbhum district, moved the Calcutta High Court on Friday. This particular case is seeking quashing of an FIR against him. Justice Saugata Bhattacharyya fixed August 20 for hearing the matter after senior lawyer Mukul Rohatgi, appearing for Md Nazibuddin Mondal alias Tulu Mondal, mentioned the petition and claimed that the FIR was mala fide.
