TN Govt Unveils Major Judicial Expansion, Prison Reform Measures
CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Law, Courts and Prisons Minister C T R Nirmal Kumar announced measures to expedite judicial proceedings and strengthen court infrastructure across the state.
Speaking during the debate on the demands for grants, he said 14 additional special POCSO courts would be established in 13 high-pendency districts, including two in Madurai, at a cost of Rs 25.30 crore. Three dedicated POCSO courts at the district judge level will also be set up in Ariyalur, Perambalur and Pudukkottai with an outlay of Rs 5.41 crore.
