UNSC Report Says Red Fort Attack Was ‘Officially Attributed’ to Al-Qaeda in Indian Subcontinent

UNITED NATIONS: According to a new report by a UN Security Council body, the Red Fort terror attack in New Delhi in November last year has been “officially attributed” to Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS), monitoring counter-terrorism sanctions.

The high-intensity blast near the Red Fort killed around 15 people and injured several others after an explosion ripped through a slow-moving car at a traffic signal near the Red Fort metro station.

The report, published on Monday, said AQIS had continued to evolve from a fragmented group into a regional terrorist entity.
