Govt to Soon Announce High-Level Panel on ‘Banking for Viksit Bharat’

NEW DELHI: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday said the government would soon announce a high-level committee to review the banking sector and align it with India’s next phase of growth.

Addressing the two-day PSB Confluence, Sitharaman said the announcement of the high-powered committee on ‘Banking for Viksit Bharat’ was expected shortly. The panel was proposed in this year’s Budget to comprehensively examine the banking sector and prepare it for the country’s development needs.
