MK Stalin Accuses TVK Govt of Electricity Tariff Discrepancies

Chennai: DMK president M K Stalin on Friday criticised the TVK government in Tamil Nadu over alleged irregularities in electricity tariffs, claiming consumers have faced frequent power cuts and inflated power bills since the regime took office.

Referring to the government’s admission that it had received over 3.7 lakh complaints related to high electricity charges, the former chief minister urged the administration to extend the deadline for bill payments until the billing anomalies are resolved. In a social media post, Stalin said the power sector had witnessed continuous disruption under the current government, with power outages followed by a tariff-related crisis affecting consumers.
