Sitharaman Meets World Bank Chief Ajay Banga, Discusses Deepening India-World Bank Cooperation
WASHINGTON: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman met World Bank President Ajay Banga on the sidelines of the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors meeting in Asheville and discussed ways further to strengthen India’s partnership with the World Bank.
The talks focused on deepening corporate, infrastructure and municipal bond markets. Sitharaman appreciated the World Bank Group’s continued engagement with India and acknowledged the speedy processing of a USD 1.5 billion Development Policy Financing (DPF), the Finance Ministry said.
