Telegram Restored for Some Existing Users, Still Missing from App Stores
NEW DELHI: Instant messaging platform Telegram became operational for some existing users on Tuesday morning. Telegram has started operational for some existing users after the end of the temporary restriction from the government. But then this particular app continues to be unavailable for download on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
The government until June 22 had imposed an unmitigated ban on Telegram. According to sources, there has been no change or extension to the timelines specified in the original order. While some users who already had the app installed reported that the service had resumed, new users were still unable to download Telegram as it remained delisted from the application stores of Google and Apple.
Email queries sent to Google and Apple seeking clarification on the continued delisting did not receive an immediate response.
