Chennai: Thousands of fans and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) workers gathered outside cinema halls across Tamil Nadu on Thursday to watch the first-day, first-show of Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay’s much-awaited film Jana Nayagan.
The release of Vijay’s final film sparked grand celebrations, with fans dancing, singing and bursting crackers outside theatres. While many rejoiced that the delayed film had finally hit the big screen, the occasion was also marked by emotion, as Jana Nayagan is widely seen as the actor-turned-politician’s farewell to cinema before focusing fully on public life.
