Budha Amarnath Yatra Begins from Jammu; First Batch Flagged Off by LG

JAMMU: The annual Budha Amarnath Yatra to the ancient shrine in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district began on Monday, with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha flagging off the first batch of pilgrims from Jammu during religious fervor and tight security.

After performing a pooja, Sinha flagged off the pilgrims from Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas at around 6.30 am for the 230-km journey to Poonch. The 12-day pilgrimage to the Baba Budha Amarnath temple in Rajpura, Mandi tehsil, will continue till August 28 and conclude on Raksha Bandhan.
