Himachal Police Register Case against Man over Obscene Messages to Daughter-in-Law

HAMIRPUR (HP): A married woman in Himachal Pradesh’s Hamirpur district has accused her father-in-law of molesting her and sending obscene messages and videos through social media, encouraging the police to register a case and take-off an investigation.

Superintendent of Police Balbir Singh Thakur said on Thursday that the case was registered based on the woman’s complaint, and an investigation is currently underway. The woman alleged that her father-in-law had molested her and continued to send obscene messages and videos via social media.

According to the police, the complainant stated that she has been living at her parental home in a village in Hamirpur district for the past ten months, as she did not feel comfortable staying at her matrimonial home. Police said the allegations are being examined, and appropriate legal action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
