India Crosses 300 GW Clean Energy Milestone, On Course for 500 GW Target by 2030

New Delhi: Union Minister Pralhad Joshi on Thursday said India has crossed 300 GW of non-fossil fuel electricity generation capacity, marking a major milestone in its clean energy transition, and remains on course to achieve 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.

Addressing the 7th CII International Energy Conference & Exhibition in New Delhi, Joshi said the country added 30.58 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity between January and June this year, a 25 per cent increase compared to the same period last year. He also noted that India has added 90 GW of renewable energy capacity over the past two years, underscoring the rapid pace of the country’s green energy expansion.
