Jewar Villagers Who Gave Land for Noida Airport Take Off on First Flight

Noida: In a historic and emotional moment, villagers whose land was acquired for the development of Noida International Airport on Monday boarded the first passenger flight from the newly operational Greenfield airport to Lucknow. The passengers, many of them women from the Jewar region of Gautam Buddh Nagar district, arrived at the airport carrying boarding passes and excitement as they prepared to become part of the airport’s inaugural commercial journey.

The special gesture was seen as a recognition of the contribution made by local communities to the airport’s development. Villagers who once witnessed the acquisition of their land were now among the first passengers to experience the facility that has emerged on the same soil. Upon their arrival in Lucknow, the group was scheduled to be received by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, adding further significance to the occasion.

The inaugural flight marked a landmark chapter in the operational journey of Noida International Airport and highlighted the role played by the people of Jewar in making the ambitious project a reality.
