Kerala Govt Announces Five Major Governance Reforms to Boost Public Administration

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Cabinet on Wednesday approved five major governance reforms aimed at strengthening public administration, enhancing transparency and preventing leakages that have caused significant losses to the state exchequer over the years.

Chief Minister V D Satheesan said the reforms would establish a comprehensive digital governance and project monitoring framework. The government said the reforms are expected to improve asset management, accountability and overall administrative efficiency across departments.

As part of the initiative, the Cabinet approved the creation of the Special Asset Management Platform for Administration, Tracking and Harmonisation (SAMPATH), a centralised digital system to maintain records of all government-owned assets, including land, buildings, heritage structures, roads, dams, bridges, vehicles and machinery.
