Major Anti-Narcotics Operation: 5 Kg Heroin Recovered Along LoC in Jammu & Kashmir

Jammu: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Saturday seized five kilograms of high-grade heroin, valued at over Rs 25 crore, near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district in one of the biggest drug recoveries in the region in recent years.

The contraband was recovered in Kosalyain village of Haveli tehsil, a forward area close to the LoC.  This incident happened during a planned anti-drug operation. Officials said the heroin had been smuggled from across the border and was intended for distribution in the hinterland through an organised cross-border narcotics network.
