Thiruvananthapuram Corporation Clash: Police Register Cases against BJP, CPI (M) Councilors
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Police on Friday registered separate cases against BJP councillors, including Mayor V V Rajesh, and CPI (M) ward members after a clash at the Thiruvananthapuram City Corporation office a day earlier, officials said.
According to police, a case was filed against Mayor V V Rajesh, Deputy Mayor Asha Nath and BJP councilors Girikumar, Jaya Rajeev, Madhu, Gopan, Sumi Balu, R C Beena, Manju and Sruthy after a complaint lodged by CPI(M) councilor Sindhu Sasi.
In a separate case, police booked CPI (M) councilors SP Deepak, Rakhi Ravikumar, Chellamangalam Arun, Venugopal and Renjith following a complaint filed by BJP councilor Sruthy S S.
The cases stem from a confrontation between BJP and CPI (M) members at the City Corporation office on Thursday. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
