Nine Killed in Kolkata Hotel Fire; Bengal Minister Says Bangladeshis among Dead
Kolkata: At least nine people, including a four-year-old child and two women, died and six others were injured after a fire broke out at a five-storey building housing several hotels on Mirza Galib Street in central Kolkata early Wednesday.
The blaze erupted around 1.45 am, prompting five fire tenders and rescue teams from the police, Fire Brigade and Disaster Management Department to reach the spot. Around 80 people were rescued from the building.
