Omar Abdullah Visits Poonch, Meets Family Devastated by Cloudburst That Claimed Eight Lives
JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday visited Murrah village in Poonch district and met the family of a villager who lost eight members in the cloudburst-triggered flash floods and landslide that struck the area last month.
During his visit to the border district, Abdullah reviewed the situation in the rain-ravaged areas, where 16 people were killed and six remain missing. He offered condolences to the bereaved family, expressed solidarity with them, and assured all possible assistance and support from the government, according to the Chief Minister’s Office.
