PM Leads Birthday Wishes as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Turns 52
CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay turned 52 on Monday. After taking up reins in office as the state’s Chief Minister in May following the Assembly elections, he is marking his first birthday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the greetings, wishing Vijay on the occasion. Former chief ministers M.K. Stalin and Edappadi K. Palaniswami also extended their birthday wishes, along with Tamil Nadu BJP president Nainar Nagenthran and several other political leaders.
Greetings poured in from across the political spectrum and various sections of society for the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) founder, whose party scripted a remarkable electoral success in the April 23 Assembly elections.
The occasion assumes significance as it is Vijay’s first birthday since taking charge as Chief Minister, with his government having completed its initial weeks in office after the historic electoral mandate.
