Rahul Gandhi Says Govt Must Deliver Justice, Apologise to Students After PM’s ‘Forgiving’ Remark
NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi speaks of “forgiving” students, but it is the government that owes them the truth, justice and an apology over the NEET paper leak controversy.
In an Instagram post, Gandhi shared a video of his interaction with the families of Gopika, Roshini and Vetri Anandan, who died by suicide after the NEET paper leak and subsequent cancellation of the examination. Recalling his visit to Tamil Nadu on Saturday, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha said the bereaved families all asked why honest and hardworking students should suffer because of a dishonest system. He said the government must be held accountable for the anguish caused to students and their families.
